Stage 1: Goals and Discovery
To align my design work with Stagazr's business outcomes, I had a few brainstorming sessions with the Stargazr founders to understand their goals. From the sessions, we narrowed it down to a few main objectives:
Communicating product benefits clearly
Increasing leads and conversions
Building brand credibility
Stage 2: Design Approach
To set the design direction, the founders shared a set of competitor websites and references that captured the aesthetic that they were aiming for. Modern, credible and innovation-driven. They also provided several UI templates that reflected the brand's preferred design style, which helped to align expectations right from the start.
Drawing from the shared design references, I created high-fidelity wireframes to bring their intended direction to life.
Stage 3: Wireframing & UX Architecture
Initial low-fidelity wireframes were mapped out to visualize the content hierarchy, CTA placements, and user flows.
Stage 4: Feedback, Refinement & Iterations
After multiple rounds of feedback sessions and reviews with the founders and the Product team, iterations were made and the design was finalized.
One key challenge faced was helping site visitors clearly visualize the potential impact of Stargazr on their businesses. Initially, the team proposed to use charts and graphs, but it created visual clutter and there was a risk of overwhelming users with too much information. I proposed to simplify these sections with a clean, focused infographic with simple icons. This approach made content easier to digest and improved the overall readability.
Another challenge was balancing my personal minimalistic design preference with the founders’ desire for multiple CTA buttons across a page. While my instinct leaned toward a cleaner, more focused layout, I recognized the importance of meeting business objectives, particularly around conversion and lead generation. I compromised by strategically placing CTAs in ways that supported the user journey without overwhelming the layout, ensuring that the site design remained user-friendly while aligning with the founders’ goals.
